Hi, I have written an exclusive post on my blog ‘Install XP on your Vista PC’ . The post talks about installing XP while still retaining Vista and setting up a dual boot.

Hi. I have just installed xp over vista, without downloading any components, etc. It didnt work the first 2 times i tried, so then i decided to select a different partition, now i have xp installed with no problems, etc, i didnt have to download anything at all before i did this, so try installing on a different partition when this question comes up, after you put your xp disc in. Hope this helps, and all the best. lol
