Hello,
I like to play video games on my Gateway laptop. I bought it in 2004 and recently I have been having problems with the battery holding a charge even with the power cord plugged in. When I play my games, the power cord can't keep the battery charged and after a while the computer will shut down unexpectedly from power loss. When I am not playing games, it charges fine. Also, My power cord converter box is extremely hot, and I don't know why. I thought that when laptops are plugged in they should run off direct AC power and not battery. Please help, this is getting really annoying. Thanks.

Try unplugging your laptop battery when you game out
I mean make sure its not connected at all then when not gaming pop it back in
See if that helps
