Hp pavillion m6 wont start

hi there,

i downloaded the latest version of java this morning and its messed my laptop up. Now w it hen i switch on i get 2 menu options 'start repair' or 'start normally', if i choose 'start normally' then see the windows logo firing up, but ends up going back to the menu screen. if i choose 'start repair' i'm faced with a grey screen with no 'startup repair' popup for me to choose to do anything. ive left it like this for 2 hours hoping the popup would appear alas to no avail.

seems like im going round in circles, any answers out there would be greatly appreciated
