How to delete antivirus software

Hallo,
I installed avast antivirus on my windows xp vista inspirant, I got mcAfee and instead of unistalling avast first, I just installed mcAfee. Finally, both antiviruses refused to work, I ant even uninstall both. How can i get rid of them? please help, Thank you.

Hello

You must remove all traces of both applications in

1. Windows
2. Temporary files
3. Registry

Windows

Open explorer and go to programme files, see if you can spot Avast and McAfee, manually delete those files.

Also look in application data and Windows shared files, do the same.

Temp files

Download and install and run this tool CCleaner:

https://ccm.net/downloads/security-and-maintenance/4555-ccleaner/

Registry

Download and install Eusing Free Registry Cleaner, run it and delete all items found.

I forgot, you must restart your machine before installing McAfee.
