Security Registration is missing or corrupt. Have done scandisk Closed

Question

Hello.  I ran the problem kieferschild pointed me to and there are some things it could not fix.  First.  My Service Registration is missing or corrupt.  The hard disk has no errors, so it must be corrumpt.  How do I get a new one>

Configuration: Windows 7 / Chrome 33.0.1750.117

I suggest that you completely uninstall Security Essential and reinstall.

To uninstall, I strongly suggest this free tool:

Almost a month ago, I was also facing the "Service registration is missing or corrupt" error but starting Windows Update Related Services helped me to get rid with this error.

Here's how to Start Windows Update Related Services:

Open Run dialog box by pressing Windows + R keys together and type services.msc in it then press Enter.

Search for Windows Update from the list of services and choose the startup type as automatic from here.

Next you have to click on Start option if it was stopped by default.

Select Apply and click on OK option.

Now search for Background Intelligent Transfer Service and Cryptographic Service.

Repeat all the previous steps to start them and then reboot your computer.
