I have a simple project in which a range of cells are needed to be in filled with color, based on the value on another cell.
example

if Cell A5 has a value of Complete, cells A1 to A4 will be color-filled with green.

i tried googling for solutions but still to no avail..

USE CONDITIONAL FORMATTING

select A1:a4

conditional formatting
manage rules
use formulas
the formula is
=$A$5="complete"
applies to $A$1:$A$4
click ok
save the flle

now enter "complete" in A5 see what happens
