I keep getting "Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device" . My Windows update won't load. it freezes every time i tried to go on it. plz help.

what version? I have a toshiba windows 7
I don't know but I've been trying to get my audio output back & when i tried to reinstall it, it can't because i keep getting that message.

OK, so did it ever work?

I understand you have tried to update Windows, but what has changed?

Is it just an update?

Yes it did work before but it stopped awhile back i can't really say exactly when because I didn't care for it but now when i try to update or install something i can't. "Windows Update cannot currently check for updates because the service is not running" & Yeah i really need to update/reinstall my audio - it's muted and I have to update/reinstall it.

And every time I click on windows update it freezes !!
