My PCs Monitor is not working

Yesterday, i was with my PC( HP , DV 9000, pavilion,Entertainment Pc) and it was working properly. but today while i m opening it..the display monitor is black. All the starting windows sound is coming .

After That, i connected the PC with external Monitor i. e Multi Media Projector. it appears in wall. but again unfortunately id didn't come its own Display Monitor.

so , now i m in tense ..please advise me for proper maintenance..and its cost too

First check to see if it's monitor or video card issue. Try connecting to another monitor.
