External HD not recognized

I bought a silicon power diamond D03 500gb hard drive i bought it a year ago and it worked fine, yesterday i transferred a couple of files of my computer into it and today the hard drive is not recognized on my computer , and LED light is blue when its usually red. i tried connecting it to other laptops but it remains the same.
is there a way to make it recognized and why is the LED light blue?
HELP!

I assume the disk drive is broken. These units usually have one color for "power on" and another for "data transfer".

I would look into buying a new laptop drive and pry open the case to replace the broken one.
