Black screen with flashing cursor

I was using the recovery disc in my toshiba laptop everything was working great it cleaned out all the programs and was in the process of restoring the programs. At about 50% I got a message saying it couldn't complete and my laptop rebooted then went to a black screen with a flashing cursor. When I power it up it has a screen that says toshiba then back to the black screen HELP PLEASE??!?!?

I suspect you have a hard disk failure. A local repair shop should be able to replace the hard drive and re-install Windows.
