Hi there,
Could you provide some details. What is the OS? Is this a new drive or it has been used. How are you trying to format it and why are you unable to do it?
Check if the drive is visible in Disk Management and try to format from there. If this is the method you have used and it failed, try formatting from the command prompt, using the diskpart command. Check below for details:
