Forgot pasword to laptop

I forgot pasword to laptop and I've tried all the tips on how to recover passwords or reset system and have gotten nowhere. The only program to work was Asunsoft Password Reset, but when I get to the reset part, it tells me I have to upgrade cause this version won't let me..

We are terribly sorry but Kioskea cannot help you to recover your lost password, because you can't prove that you are the legitimate owner. . Everyday computers are stolen, although you may be honest, we do not wish to help potential criminals.
