Hello,
I have a Gateway desktop DX4300. I just finished downloading the drivers. I noticed that I can also update for Acer on this computer. What does the update do?

Well, i would suggest reading what the update fixes. When the alert for updates comes, up , there should be a description of what it will fix. Usually you want to take all updates.
