My computer won't turn on

Hello,

I have turned my asus laptop on his morning and the light at the bottom has come on but the screen has sort of lit up but is a black/grey colour. What shall I do?

If you look carefully can you see the normal desktop? You might need to shine a torch on it at various angles or get it in the right light - I find daylight best fir this.

If you can see the faint desktop, then it is likely that your screens backlight (or inverter) is faulty.

You may well still be able to use your laptop by connecting it to a normal monitor, but it then stops being the portable device it once was!.

I really appreciate kudos points as a payment for solving issues :o)
