HP Compaq Presario Notebook PC black screen after startup

It has been bothering me for the last two days, and I need to find a solution. Im using windows 8. After I startup my computer, after the welcome logo the screen goes black, and only a cursor appears. I cant do anything after that. I tried booting in safe mode and it worked, but come on, who would want to use safe mode always right? So please help me find a solution to this problem

Try this

1. Remove the battery and cable.

2. Press and hold the power button for 58 seconds.

3. Replug and start.
