Java development environment ?

Hi,
I am looking for a software where I can write (execute, save and open) my simple programs in Java. Any suggestions?
Please help me anyone.

Build a virtual machine, and run it there!

Sorry, I don't know what is a virtual machine. Can you explain me please. I was using software before with other language. In that environment I could do some simple *.exe files and run them separetly. There were tools where I could chose a window, drug a buttons on it give them properties and simultaniously in an adjacent window there were cod written. I don't need this visual programming tools now. If only I could write line (10, 10, 200, 200) and press run and a little line would pop out I would be more than happy. Thank you in advance to all who care to answer.
