Hey there, msaroman.
I'd suggest that you try the pen drive with a another computer to see if you're able to format it.
You could also try to remove the write protection, by following the instructions for one of the first three methods from this article: https://www.wikihow.com/Disable-Write-Protection
If none of that works, another option would be, trying some of the formatting tools, which some manufacturers offer for their devices, to see if one of them works on your USB flash drive.
