Head phones jack problem.

My laptop speakers are working, bt when I use my headphones or aux cable, da jack does detact the pluggin. But da problem is dat I then only receive a hasty sound 4rm ma headphones/home theatre. Does it mean my headphones jack is dead & need to buy a sound card or what?? Plis some1 help me out, any working possible solutions. ANYBODY.

Do you have updated drivers for your Headphones speakers?..
Tell the make and model of your laptop?..
