when I try to do a voice search on google chrome nothing happens I get talk now come up then listening and then nothing happens I am running windows 8.1

If nothing happens when you speak, be sure your microphone is set up correctly. If you don't have a microphone and you're using a laptop, that's okay -- your laptop probably has a built-in microphone it will use by default and you need to be sure your mike is working good!

thank you it is now sorted i'm using a lenovo all in one and as you say all it was my on board mike was not set to default so once again I thank you
