Hello divakar,
Welcome to Kioskea Forum
Users of IE8 and IE9 should make certain that Compatibility View - which is for some reason turned ON by default! - is turned OFF.
1. In IE9, press the Alt key to toggle the main menu bar on first.
2. Click Tools and choose Compatibility View Settings
3. Remove google.com from the big text box if it is there (in some versions it may not be.)
4. Uncheck the three checkboxes under the text box - this is very important, or Microsoft will just switch CV back on again next time you start IE.
5. Restart IE.
Then - for users of all browsers - try some basic troubleshooting things:
Clear cache and cookies
Try disabling any browser extensions and starting the browser again
Try starting GMail without any labs you might have enabled (use https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin?service=mail&passive=true&rm=false&continue=https://mail.google.com/mail/?labs%3D0&scc=1<mpl=default<mplcache=2&emr=1&osid=1 to do that)
Temporarily disable your virus checker
Try another browser to see if the behaviour persists
Switch to Basic HTML and see if the behaviour persists (use https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin?service=mail&passive=true&rm=false&continue=https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui%3Dhtml&ss=1&scc=1<mpl=default<mplcache=2&emr=1&osid=1 to do that)
It is better to reply us whether the problem is resolved or not!
