3 beeps indicates a memory problem. It could either be bad memory or a failed motherboard.
If you have multiple memory modules you can remove one at a time to identify the bad module.

Such a girly thing to ask but how do I access the memory and the motherboard and once I do what do I do next? Hubby takes his computer very seriously and is going to panic big time!
