Hi JyotirmoyGuha,
The VLOOKUP formula will look for a value (employee name) in a matrix (a table with employee names and ID's) and then return the value of a chosen column in the matrix.
Try it and let us know if and where you get stuck.
If I didn't understood you correctly then please provide a sample of your data for better understanding.
