internet not connecting to pc Closed

Hello, 
i have strong internet connection, new modem and and a wifi router. my main pc win7pro states no internet connection. my other laptops can connect directly to modem and internet-- why can't  my desktop pc connect? is there some toggles i need to change?

You might try to "power cycle the modem and router.

To power cycle your modem:

    Shut down your computer.
    Unplug the cable modem from the electrical outlet.
    Wait 30 seconds, then plug the cable modem back into the        electrical outlet.
    Unplug your router from the electrical outlet. 
    Wait 30 seconds. Plug your router back in.
    Wait 30 seconds, then turn your computer back on.

i have done all those steps several times to no avail-- i had read something that said the SSID is probably incorrect not working to remove it without any resolution beyond that
