Gaming pc monitor not displaying

Hello, i recently built my first gaming pc, i plugged it it and it all worked, i installed windows 8.1 and installed the graphics card drivers and the motherboard drivers, i put it on sleep, came back later and it fired up like normal but the monitor said no signal?
any suggestions?

please check your cable connection, are they properly connected. if yes then you need to reset the ram and it will start working fine.
but before you will reset the ram, you need to restart your computer first.
