Internet browser has stopped working even though wi fi is on.

I am on Windows 7 and my anti virus is Kaspersky. From yesterday i can get onto google and get into my gmail but it won't let me browse on the internet. I have an Acer laptop.

In command prompt please try the following:

Ping www.yahoo.com

and press enter.
Please tell me whether you got any replies or request timed out?

I did in command prompt: www.yahoo.com and it came back with www.yahoo.com is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Right click on command prompt and select Run as administrator and then type the above command
ping www.facebook.com

If you get reply then internet is good there is problem lies with your browser otherwise we have to proceed to next steps.
