Are you sure, the partition was not formatted during the Windows installation? What version of Windows are you trying to install? Different Windows versions have different storage requirements. If the selected partition has no enough space, you should pick another one or format the drive and create different partitions.
Keep in mind that Windows and Linux require different partition file formats, so it may not be possible to have both on one partition.
