Whatsapp on my android tablet does not accept word document and

pls iv been trying to send word document and pdf to our whatsapp group, but it keeps telling me that it cannot accept but that i should update the whatsapp apps which i did but it stiil cannot accept. pls hw can i send word document or pdf through the whatsapp

WhatsApp does not support file sending...
