I use Malwarebytes it does block some sites and stops outgoing communication from infected sites.

Xpcman's suggestion is excellent but ensure you have only one antivirus otherwise they may come in conflict, produce false positives and the scanning engines will certainly slow down your system.
I would never recommend Inigma Software
RegistryFix does not prevent malware neither does Auslogic and Spyware Remover
Norton Symantec is renown for making life difficult and they are of little support.
