Whenever I reboot my laptop, my icons on the desktop disappears

I need help. It started last month, whenever I shut down or restart my laptop everything in the desktop and taskbar disappeared. First time it happened I thought it wouldn't happen again, I was so stupid! That I just move the files from the desktop folder in My Computer to the desktop without copying it. Then I rebooted my laptop again and EVERYTHING disappeared! Luckily the files were not valuable but its just annoying! I have to search up Google Chrome from My Computer and put a copy on the taskbar every now and then. Is there any way to fix it or is it already broken cuz I had my laptop since 2012 :/. Please send help
