Cant download my pics from my digital camera

Hello,
I have a hp pavilion zd8000, I reinstalled windowsxp and now I stick my card from my digital camera in the slot on the side to download my pics. It does nothing. please someone help me. Before i reinstalled. I could download without a cable , just putting the card in.

You should download the integrated card driver of your laptop... and it will work
