Desktop computer can't log in.

My (Desktop)computer goes to a black screen with a courser after it goes through the welcome screen. I tried going to safe mode, same thing. I tried using keyboard combinations, did nothing. Is there a way to fix this?

What version of Windows are you using?

I am using Windows 7.
