                    Hey Sam, what is your router? Have you tried to reset your router?                     Have a look on your device settings. Normally, this kind of issues occur when the device is in on power saving mode. Switch off the power saving mode in settings.
                
                
            
                        
                    IS this your router, or your ISP's?  Does your laptop have a B/G or N adapter, and is your router broadcasting the same band?   
If this is your ISP router, then you need to contact them for support, as you are paying for it! If it is your router, you need to make certain that all of the settings are correct.
