PC can't boot up. Need urgent help !

Hi,

My PC is showing the following symptoms:

Windows does not boot up, Screen is black and At top left corner, there is a non blinking dash. Also, keyboard and mouse does not work.

Need help urgently as I have to use the PC .

Core™ i3-4170-3.7GHz | 2GB DDR3 RAM, 500GB SATA HDD

Windows 8.1

Heard weird noise from HDD before this happens. Tried remove n repluging all cables, remove n reinsert CMOS battery, reseat RAM but none WORKS.

I suggest you try booting from a Linux CD. If that test works then you need to replace the hard disk and reinstall Windows from your backup.

I can't boot. Suspecting it is the cable issue.
