XP finds no sound device/need sound on PC

Hello,
Have "3" devices to choose from... loaded XP home and pro- they cant find SOUND or my devices! tried all control panel and device manager...Signed in a week I will find it - always takes a week or more.
Isn't there an honest program out there that can just turn the dam sound on?
P.S. my other PC always has found it striaght off!

Houao! You pc is dead check restart with the cd of Windows xp of vista and then reinstalled Windows!
Otherwise tried to make one restoration(catering) of the systeme
