Transfering pictures with my flash drive

Hello,
I am using a flash drive to drag and drop pictures from my computer onto a memory stick. I have loaded a number of pictures and have had no problem until now. All of a sudden the pictures won't load and it says no file. I have checked the memory stick and there is still plenty of room on it. Can you help. Thanks.

how old and how often is the usb drive used? as they fail eventually as they have a fixed amount of read and write states.
