My lap not getting wakeup from sleep

Hello,

If I keep my laptop in sleep mode, It goes to sleep then after clicking any button, its not recovering to normal,, screen will be on black only..then again I need to shut down and power on to continue my works..please anyone help have I to make any changes in settings

Doesn't the laptop wake up if you press the power button?
