Hp laptop telling me to update my BIOS amd processor

my hp support is telling me to update my BIOS amd processer. I tried 2 times for 24 hrs to update but it never finished. Got nervous so I stopped. My pc runs fine, is this necessary? My pc is less than a yr old and I use it for recreation not work. Been reading up on this update and it makes me more nervous

If you don't know exactly what your doing when you update the BIOS is will "brick" the computer. ie destroy the the BIOS and make the computer a useful as a brick.

I suggest you don't do a thing.
