Hey there, sonu.
Basically the only option for your situation is to connect that drive externally. Since that PC is running Windows XP, back then the IDE/PATA drives were pretty much the most popular ones, so please make sure that you know what's the interface of your drive IDE/PATA or SATA (this is the newer interface). You should be able to find out what it is by googling the product number or model of the drive on the web and checking out its specifications. Once you know what's its interface you can find an appropriate external enclosure, dock station or a SATA (or PATA/IDE) to USB adapter and connect the HDD externally to your laptop.
Having an OS on it should not matter, so don't worry about that.
