Dell inspiron 1525 DVD driver problem

Hello,

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 and the cd/dvd drive . it works for some DVDs but others don't read by my DVD driver . I have installed windows 8.1 64 bit and the problem is still .

You probably have a defective DVD drive and need to replace the drive.

I tried to open SQL server 2012 DVD but it doesn't work . but I installed a lot of programs such as visual studio 2013 by my driver . could it be from the DVD itself ???
