Forgot my password I can't get into my Gmail

My name is Robert Eshbaugh Im having trouble getting into my Gmail account I recently broke my old Metro phone I just got a new one but before I broke it I change the number and I can't remember my password because I did not need the password because I just kept my Gmail on my gmail address is ***@*** I would highly appreciate it if somebody there to help me out with this problem because all my contacts are in my Gmail account

When you created the account did you register an alternate email address or phone number to which you have accessed?

or

When you created the account, did you register a secret question which you remember?
