I am having trouble getting into my old gmail account. The recovery email that i had with account is not active anymore and i had no phone number to go with the account. I had created this account about 2 or 3 yrs ago and need to access it again.

Unfortunately if you have not registered a secret question which you remember, or an alternate recovery email address or phone number to which you have access to receive a reset code, you cannot prove that you are account's legitimate owner. Hence account recovery is absolutely impossible and there is no way around it.
