Before installing XP , have you create a different partition for it ,and make all the necessary settings. Normally when you have a dual OS, you must have the 2 OS options at start up (where it will be required for you to choose on which OS you want to run).
I had the same issue when I tried to install windows xp on my acer 4810T laptop. I had changed the settings.
press F2 while booting and change the SATA(IDE) settings. then try to install xp

what all the settings i have to change in bios IDE in Aspire laptop?plz advice me how to change the IDE settings
