I have an old Vostros that I've tried to upgrade with various components I gathered from other computers. my problem was that it got stuck on logo screen and I couldn't figure out why. Anyway I backtracked and basically took it apart and reinstalled each component and re tested. Problem was one of the memory modules was defective. It had vista basic and I'm installing Windows 7 professional. Well I guess I have no question only my own solution. Thank you.
