Reset it. sometimes that will work. In addition, there should be an area in the middle of the pen where you can insert a SD memory card. Perhaps what they are saying is that with the internal memory plus the use of SD card, you can record up to 8GB....that's usually the case. Twist the pen at the middle as you would any retractable pen & u will see the slot to put your SD card into & you can see your USB connection slot.
