I'm trying to learn what program(s) will I need to employ/embed into my site to enable my customers to upload from their computer, pictures and descriptions of their items for sale to my site for the purpose of listing them for sale.

Try this, but understnad, if you are using a free service, be preapred for it to stop any time, or be prepared for your users to be redirected to some other place.!
