If I had choosen Defender I would use it, after all it's free.

360 Total Security is a good choice too. It works well and is totally free as well.

What do you mean by working well ? Does detect viruses before you install them?

Yes it detects viruses just like all the anti-virus software.

Well, if you are satisfied with it's malware detection ratings then use it.
Certainly I would stay away from any Norton/Symantec products, they create problems and their customer support is poor.
