Reboots after putting a cd in the drive

Hi Guys,

I have a similar problem here as well, i have a meccer system using an asus motherboard. My pc restarts after i insert any cd in the drive. The system is really slow and i need to format and reinstall afresh. the combo uses ide cable while the hdd is sata. i changed the ide cable as well as the cd drive but it did not work..same problem..also tried to replace hdd with a spare one with a new sata cable but still the same...i also serviced the machine removing all the dust from the parts, ive changed the ram incase if it was weak? the machine works fine while the cd drive is empty..can in it be the mainboard ide controllers might be faulty?
