Help would the 250 gts show a better game

Hello,
new to pcs really but i need some help if anyone can i run a AMD athlon 4600+ duo core i have 3 gb ram and a nvidia 8500gt my son keeps taking over my pc for his games and he wanted a better card the gts 250 i went to pc world and the guy there said with my amd it would not show any better graphics yes i see on some web sites that they all say it should run it better could any you guys help with some answers for me just its weird one guy at pc world said yes go for it would make alot better yet when i took it in to have it done the guy doing it said it would be a waste of my money the 250 as a igb on it thank you for any help you can give

Dear Sir,

the 250 GTS will definitely work with the specification you have!

Yes most graphic cards are recommended for core 2 duo or quad processors but this isn't the problem!!

Go on with the 250 GTS

the 250 is way better than all 8xxx cards besides the 8800gts. vs the 8800gts the 250 is a tiny bit better
