Restoring factory settings on my vaio windows

Hello,

This last week i have gotten a virus which has stopped me from being able to restore my computer to a previous date. So i have had to get all my files onto external hard drives then going to reboot my computer i found that i had forgotten how to it after a friend showed me so i need help badly!!!!!


MY COMPUTER

Sont VAIO windows xp (no idea what year)

i have no recovery store disc or anything like that just the laptop

so im stuck and i have to get rid of this virus

ANY HELP APPRECIATED

Dear Sir,

Make a backup of all your files to the external hard drive and format your computer,

Then you will have to re-install windows!

This is the best thing you can do!
