I just completed a new gaming PC, I had it powered up and used it for a few days. However, I was attempting to troubleshoot an issue with my audio device not being detected. I tried plugging my speakers into the audio input on the front of the computer instead of the direct motherboard plug in. The second I did this, the computer shut down and now it refuses to power up. When the power supply is plugged in the motherboard bulb still lights up.

Edit: I fiddled around with it and now each time I press the power button, the computer begins to start briefly twice. The fans start up but everything dies immediately thereafter.

Well, I've tried what you suggested and so far no luck. Hopefully it is just the power supply (which i just bought, new). Ill take it by Best Buy in the morning to see what they think... the PSU is from a reputable company, but that doesn't seem to mean too much. Thanks for your input.

They tested the PSU, and it was still working fine, so we narrowed it down to the motherboard being shot. I planned to upgrade the motherboard/CPU/Memory at some point anyway, but now its going to happen a bit sooner rather than later. Thanks again for the help.
